Answering the Telephone

Just had a call at 9:40pm. Some sort of survey. While they only had my attention for about 15 seconds it inspired me to create this flow chart for future reference when answering the telephone. (I get a kick out of flow charts). telephone.png This might explain why so many people get my voicemail, s...

Re: B+K Precision 15MHz Oscilloscope Repair

Are you sure you have a good ground? Check your plugs if you haven't already. I plugged my scope into a extension cord with a broken ground prong and got 60hz noise all over the place. Not all 3 prong outlets have 3 wires to the breaker box, some older houses have new plugs, but they aren't grounded...

Re: B+K Precision 15MHz Oscilloscope Repair

That's awesome! You will have a lot of fun with it. You have to do the youscope thing. It looks horrible on my digital scope, I want to see it on your analog. It should look good there. It's a neat test to see if you've solved all the problems too. One thing to watch, some of those resistors are rea...

Re: Motovlog: Relationship stupidity, responsibilitys, etc..

True, I usually get things done, though sometimes much later that I should (over 5yrs on some things). You did learn to be MUCH more careful on gravel (as did I), I don't recall you dropping it every time we hit the stuff or ever again for that matter. If I didn't like supper Dad would save it for m...

Re: Motovlog: Relationship stupidity, responsibilitys, etc..

It's the Human way. I've heard and even said "learn from the mistakes of others or repeat them". Yet history is very repetitive, the same situations, only the names and places change. Why expect more from individuals? If we can't learn from others, surely we can learn from our own mistakes? Often th...

Re: GMC Trucks and Electric poles

Maybe he wrapped a chain and pulled them down (doesn't explain the plastic light parts), who knows, I suspect a lot of people are mad at them (REA) at the moment (myself included). They raised the basic rate (a flat fee each month just to have service) from $13 to 28, and are saying they want it at ...

Re: Motovlog: First time off roading

Those are some really cool trails. Now I want a bike again. Sadly not for a while though. No idea what PA is like, but in NY they threw a bit of a fit about Grandpa driving his Saturn out to pick blackberries. Considering they had foot deep ruts in places from the log skidder and log trucks where th...

Re: GMC Trucks and Electric poles

It apparently made it home, but I doubt it went far after that. I don't know who's truck it was, but those poles are bigger that you'd think. We put one up once, took a truck, excavator, and bulldozer. Perhaps these were partially rotten at the base or something, who knows.
