Around the House: Fixing a Dryer lint trap

Post by Jarod » Fri Dec 02, 2011 7:25 pm

Today we repair a mouse damaged lint trap screen. Its not super cost effective vs buying a new trap but doing it this way it prevents further mouse damage by using an aluminum screen instead of plastic.

My lint trap got attacked by a mouse, here is how i fixed it permanently:
  • Remove old plastic mesh.
  • Cut new aluminum screen to fit and fold edges over on screen.
  • Open up holes in lint trap housing or drill holes if you don't have any.
  • Zip tie aluminum screen to housing.
  • Mock mice as an inferior species since they wont want to chew through the aluminum.
