Need a Good Cheap Router? ($25 Belkin F7D7301)

Check this little thing out: ... _Id=522109

Its really cheap because belkins firmware is junk and thus has gotten a terrible reputation. (but we can fix that)

for $25 you can get a router that has 8MB flash (big enough for the MAX builds of ddwrt) and has 64M of ram.
Has 5 Gigabit ports, 1 WAN 4 LAN, and does Wireless N up to 300Mbit.

Also has 2 USB ports, and depending on the build of ddwrt you use it supports ext3, fat32, ntfs

Heres info on getting DD-WRT on it:

I've ordered 2 of these off ebay at a cost of 25.95 each with free shipping.

Amazon has it for around $30 too:
Belkin Share Max N300 Wireless N Router

I should have them by friday and then I'll get ddwrt on them, I'll even try to get a video of how to do it up on here.

Just received one of these routers. (Had to email the ebay seller, as I was supposed to get 2)

The major problem with them is there is not much documentation on getting dd-wrt on one. the only instructions I could find were over 2 years old, and everyone argues what the best way to do it is.

So, when I get the 2nd unit I'll be doing a short video screencap of how to get it installed, and updated to the newest version of dd-wrt and all that good stuff. it only takes about 5 or 10 minutes to get it running, and its quite a nice router from the look of it.

I decided to put the "big" build rather than the "mega" so that I would have ntfs support, and lost SFTP and something else I'll probably never use. so I've got a gigabit LAN, gigabit WAN, wireless N300 router with 2 USB that supports FAT32, NTFS, EXT2 and EXT3 filesystems, Samba, VOIP via milkfish, KAID, dns caching, and has a 450mhz cpu with 64M of ram. all for 25.95.

seems like a pretty awesome deal to me.

Great job on the video. Amazon has the Belkin ShareMax N300 for $26.
Since I liked the vid on how to do the guest network with netgear routers using
dd-wrt, can this be done with dd-wrt on the Belkin - or if this works, consider
doing your own video on this process for the Belkin. Do you know what
usb wireless n300 adapters work best with the Belkin? A further concern
is the gigabyte ports. D

Should be exactly the same setup.

I've got a list of things I want to do videos on relating to this router, and haven't gotten around do doing any, crazy busy recently but I do plan on doing some on things such as:

Setting it up as a Repeater
USB Printing and Storage (NAS)
Getting the full 300mbps out of it
and I'll add creating a virtual guest network to the list!

sorry it took me so long to approve your post, I'm always on here but forget to check sometimes.
