Re-engineering a cheiftec mini dragon

Post by Tom » Wed Dec 29, 2010 2:13 am

I have a zalman cnps 9700 cooler on my cpu, its big. Very very big. The side cover barely fits on my cheiftec mini dragon. The clearance between the cooler and the hard drives was tiny.

The wires sometimes would get tangled in the fan. I tried to remove them I got the worst cut of my life from the copper fins. I figured how to re-engineer the case so the hard drives mount differently. I will be posting all the photos tomorrow but here's a quick preview of what I've done.

This needs to be moved into the hardware sub forum once its added.

Files aren't working right now I guess... I'll upload it tomorrow then.

As a note, I cleaned all the dust out of the case today, Its sparkling now!

Looks like the inside of Vader's suit.

Come to the dark side. We have better 3g coverage. And we give away toasters.

I have more in store for the humble mini dragon...
